Party at Alice Park, early May Bank Holiday

Hungover. Sitting amidst the malodorous funk of Baskerville’s Gym, whilst the over-excited participants of a 5yr old’s birthday party range all over. They throw about more than their weight, at intense and frenzied volume, each one giddy with a bright-eyed and risible zeal that only such well furnished ‘soft play’ as this could allow. Oh God, let it be over soon.

This makes me very excited. Junot Diaz has written two books prior, both in a clean and affirming prose that will make you gasp, and this, his third book and second collection of short stories, looks set to continue the trend.
